All Selbu products are made of high quality pure wool. The mix and blend varies from model to model depending on the desired thickness, breathability, and softness of the garment. The mix will be of pure Norwegian wool, New Zealand and Australian all-year wool, and Australian Merino wool. Norwegian wool has longer and more coarse fibers for durability. Merino wool has thinner and soft fibers for comfort in wear, while the all-year wool has medium length and medium thickness fibers that enhances outward breathability of the garment. Selbu sweaters are made from a unique blend of these wools to create the perfect balance in softness and comfort while maintaining the high durability that the Norwegian knitting tradition is known for.
