Dale of Norway Holmenkollen Sweater (Stone)
The sweater of kings
The Holmenkollen sweater is named after the famous Norwegian national ski jump arena in Oslo. Holmenkollen is a place to go on beautiful winter Sundays to watch ski jump competitions. At this arena you often dress in traditional Norwegian ski sweaters as King Olav V did when he took the trolley to Holmenkollen during the oil strike. In old black and white photos we see our former King in a nostalgic sweater, smiling and being friendly to the people around him. We drew inspiration for the Holmenkollen design from our beloved King Olav V's sweater, which includes nostalgic, crisp eight leaf roses and solid stripes, which were typical for the 1950's. We have also added more modern features such as the high fleece-lined zip neck. On the exclusive zipper pull the Holmenkollen name is engraved. This sweater is inspired by the sports fashion in 1952; when Oslo and Holmenkollen hosted the Winter Olympics.
